In this case study, we dive into a partnership between LOAD and Bayer, one of the major healthcare players, to develop a breakthrough product providing a training tool for physicians to better understand how to diagnose and manage chronic kidney disease.

Our app uses open algorithms (e.g., CKD-EPI, KFRE 2 years, and KFRE 5 years) and leverages scientific medical calculations, such as glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and the six-variable Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) equation. This innovation represents a critical advance in assessing chronic kidney disease (CKD), evaluating kidney function and accurately adjusting medication dosages in renal dysfunction.

The product provides a set of inputs (age, gender, weight, creatinine and albuminuria), and after filling them in, we use the algorithms mentioned above to calculate the output and provide various charts and tables with the corresponding level.
